The ALLEN M. SUMNER (DD-692) is shown in her wartime Measure 22 - Graded System Camouflage (with small hull numbers) which was typical of these ships between 1944 and mid-1946.

As they appeared after the 3-in/50 cal armament conversion program of the early 1950's which was carried out on all but a few of the ships. This program replaced the twin 40mm gun mounts with a single 3 inch gun mount and the quadruple 40mm gun mounts with a twin 3 inch gun mount, These prints are for the DD version ONLY and do not cover the ships converted to DDR, DDE and other special types. As they appeared after the 3-inch/.50 cal. Armament conversion program of the early 1950's which was carried out on all but a few of these vessels. This program replaced the twin 40-mm gun mounts with a single 3-inch gun mount and the quadruple 40-mm with a twin 3-inch gun mount. These prints are for the DD version only and DO NOT cover the ships converted to DDR, DDE, and other special types. For this release, their armament consists of 3 twin 5-inch gun mounts, 2 single 3-inch gun mounts, 2 twin 3-inch gun mounts and one quintuple 21-inch torpedo tube mount. This configuration is for the offset version with the forward 3-inch gun mount offset to port and the aft 3-inch gun on the centerline with the MK 56 director between them on the aft end of the superstructure.
